over a two day event at  Fota Island Resort



 

Fota Island Resort was honoured to host the Irish Executive Committee of Les Clef d'Or who welcomed members of the Executive Committee of Great Britain to Cork on Monday, 11th November. The two-day event highlighted the five-star Fota Island Resort and the spectacular surrounding area of Cork to fellow members of the prestigious group.

 


Head of Concierge at Fota Island Resort, John Coleman joined Les Clef d'Or Ireland in 2021 and last year was delighted to be elected as Secretary of the Les Clefs d’Or Irish Society. For this year’s event, John Coleman organised a host of wonderful activities for the group upon their arrival, such as trips to the Jameson Distillery, the Queenstown Experience at The Cobh Heritage Centre and Spike Island, as well as a private dinner in the hotel’s outstanding restaurant, The Cove prepared by Head Chef Eoghan O’Flynn. 
 


Les Clef d’Or Ireland members in attendance included members from The Killarney Park, Clayton Hotel, Burlington Rd, Druids Glen, The Europa Hotel, Belfast, Ashford Castle and The Fitzwilliam Hotel Belfast, who and were joined by the Great Britain Executive Committee members including President Toru Machida from The Cadogan, A Belmond Hotel, London and Vice President Binoy Nair from St James Court.

 

Speaking about the success of the two-day event, Les Clef d'Or Ireland Secretary and Head of Concierge at Fota Island Resort John Coleman shared ‘It was very special to welcome members from across Ireland and Great Britain to Fota Island Resort this week. Meeting members and conversing about our wonderful and colourful industry at events like these is fantastic. As Head of Concierge at Fota Island Resort, having the two-day event onsite and around Cork was truly thrilling for me and memorable, I hope for all the members who attended.’


 

Les Clefs d’Or (which translates to The Golden Keys) is a highly regarded association of hotel concierges, with over 3,500 members working in the best properties all over the globe, with 42 in Ireland. Easily identifiable by the golden crossed keys on their lapels, members of Les Clefs d’Or are known to be the best of the best, assisting all guests in anything from a simple airport pick up to arranging last-minute dinner reservations in the hottest restaurants. They're often the first to greet you at the door and the last to wave goodbye.
