Famille Fabre Chateau De Reiux showcases the vibrant character of sunny Minervois

Famille Fabre Chateau De Reiux (demi muid) Minervois (AOC) 2020, 14.5% ABV

RRP: €24.00  at Matsons Bandon, Grange, Youghal

Showcases the vibrant character of sunny Minervois

This Minervois from Famille Fabre is a bold and expressive wine that showcases the

region's vibrant character. With its deep garnet hue and enticing aromas of red fruits (cherry, raspberry) and black olives, this wine is a sensory delight, made with two of the great grapes of the Mediterranean, Syrah (80%) and Grenache.

On the palate, the intensity of the fruit flavours shines through, with a harmonious blend of dark cherries and raspberries. The tannins are well-structured, providing a firm backbone that balances the fruit. The finish is long and spicy (with smoky hints of the garrigue), leaving a lasting impression. Very Highly Recommended.

The wine demands attention. Its bold flavours and complex character make it perfect for special occasions or when you want to impress your guests. Pair it with hearty dishes like grilled beef or duck breast with a fig chutney for a truly memorable dining experience.

A Taste of Southern France

It is a testament to the quality of Minervois, a region often overlooked but producing exceptional wines. Laure Minervois, in the Languedoc, is a magnet for tourists of the active and outdoorsy type, but it is also the ideal land for Cinsault, Grenache and Syrah grapes. The perfect altitude, scorching sun and cool soils are ideal conditions for growing grapes with elegance and character. It is quite close to Carcassonne, the walled city that many of you francophiles know well!

It is unusual to see the words Demi-Muid on the label. Demi-Muid is a French term for 600-litre capacity oak barrels, typically used in the Rhône Valley.
