Lough Gill Rising Wind CGX IPA, 6.2% ABV, 440 ml can, Bradleys
a must-try for hop lovers
There’s a new vista recently on the horizon and gaining the attention of craft beer producers. Lough Gill was among the first to use the Vista CGX hops with Rascal Brewing also using it in their excellent Empire Haze.
Both the Lough Gill and the
Rascals are collaborations, with suppliers Crosby Hops involved in each case. Lough Gill also partnered with brewery supply company Loughran Brewing Stores (Dundalk) and all three came up with this IPA gem.Lough Gill is very happy with the outcome saying it showcases a super brand new hop variety in the Vista CGX pellet form. Other hops in the mix are Idaho 7 CGX and Centennial.
It has worked out very well indeed. We have delicate aromas of citrus and apricot. The CGX form makes it even more concentrated yet the Sligo brewery hasn’t got carried away with the experiment and the beer is full of flavour and nicely balanced, a very satisfactory experience indeed and Very Highly Recommended.
And a very worthy Beer of The Week.
