The “signature” of the fruit, of the land, and of the winemaker
Our organic wine from the Alsace has a clear mid-gold colour with charming aromas of fruit (pear) and floral. The palate is full and dry with a lovely
freshness right through to the long minerally finish. It is a blend of Pinot Blanc, Pinot Auxerrois, Pinot Gris and Muscat and is Highly Recommended. It also finds a place in our Good Value Wine list. The 4th Tower is the watchtower of the Three Castles. Smaller and not easily visible, it played a major role in protecting the Châteaux. The two slopes mentioned on the label represent the two hillsides of Husseren-les-Châteaux, from which the parcels selected for these wines come and “are worked with the purest respect to the soil, in organic or biodynamic methods”.
This beautiful wine, a dry and complex blend, is produced by a 14th-generation winemaker. The Kuentz-Bas winery was founded in the Alsatian town of Husseren-les-Châteaux in 1795. In 2004 the 10ha estate was bought by Jean-Baptiste Adam and he is the fourteenth generation of his family involved in winemaking.
This wine is the “signature” of the fruit, of the land, and of the winemaker using simple and natural methods. They suggest serving it with cold buffets or as a wine “for pleasure”. The latter is presumably on its own as aperitif. O’Briens Wines tend towards seafood or vegetarian dishes.
