Discover Culinary and Artistic Delights at Kilkenny Design Café & Store in Shanagarry
We made an unexpected lunchtime visit to the Kilkenny Design Restaurant & Store in Shanagarry the other day.
It is in the heart of East Cork, just a few miles from
Garryvoe, Ballymaloe and Ballycotton! Here, you'll not only enjoy a breakfast or lunch or just a cuppa and scone while also having the opportunity to explore the store.Discover a curated selection of local Irish makers, including the artistic creations of Belinda Northcote and the exquisite jewellery from Enibas. On a gift-buying mission? Check the displays of Newbridge Silverware and Galway Glass, and others.
The bright and airy cafe is at the back of the store with views out over the surrounding countryside and faces south in the direction of Ballycotton. It is dedicated to supporting local producers and suppliers and is open every day of the week.

| By the time we arrived some of the breakfast specials had been wiped off the board but we noticed a couple of ham and cheese croissants still in the display. For €5.50 I enjoyed a delightful meal, enhanced by an exquisite relish. A shared pot of tea cost six euro. |

| My colleague was tucking into their Chicken Chilli wrap (12.95). That came with an included and very generous helping of salad (baby potatoes, runner beans and lettuce). The chicken was excellent, juicy and scrumptious and, combined with the salad, made for quite a substantial plateful. |
