CORK THEMED AFTERNOON TEA LAUNCHED AT THE METROPOLE 

Part of Cork on a Fork Fest



The Metropole Hotel has launched an exclusive Afternoon Tea menu in collaboration with

Maharani Gin and Rebel City Distillery as part of the Cork on a Fork Festival.


The specially curated menu celebrates the vibrant flavours and artisanal craftsmanship of Cork. Each dish is thoughtfully designed by the chefs at the hotel to pair with the exotic botanicals of Maharani Gin. 


The sweet and savoury selection includes Maharani Gin cured salmon with saffron lemon mayo, O’Connells beef pastrami on Vienna sourdough bread, homemade buttermilk chai spiced fruit scone, vanilla and passion fruit lassi and rosewater rice pudding.


The Maharani Afternoon Tea will be served across the entire Cork on a Fork Festival, 14th – 18th August, from 12.30pm to 4.00pm daily.

“We are very excited to offer our new Maharani Afternoon Tea at the Met. It’s very important to us to use locally sourced high-quality ingredients on our menus so the collaboration with Maharani Gin is a match made in heaven. The gin has been crafted with precision by Rebel City Distillery and it’s been a pleasure to curate a menu around it. It makes sense for the speciality Afternoon Tea to be available at the Metropole Hotel as MacCurtain Street will be a hive of activity for the whole festival with the Metropole happily at the centre of much of the festivities. Cork on a Fork is a wonderful opportunity to showcase the best of Cork food and we really feel this menu reflects that. We are looking forward to welcoming diners and experiencing this one-of-a-kind menu.”

SANDWICHES

Smoked bacon and egg mayo, garden chive mini sweet slider

Mini spiced chicken tarragon cracked poppadom

Market smoked salmon, saffron lemon mayo, Indian style pickled red onion, brown homemade treacle soda bread, Maharani Gin spritz

O’Connells beef pastrami, wild rocket on Vienna sourdough bread, Dijon chutney


SCONES

Homemade buttermilk chai spiced fruit mini scone, clotted cream, strawberry jam


SWEET TREATS


Vanilla and passion fruit lassi, fresh raspberry and mint

Homemade mini deep fried banana bread, pistachio strawberry cream

Trifle of raspberry, strawberry and blueberry

Rosewater rice pudding

Summer macarons

Mini 73% chocolate delice
