Two Green Shoots in Glengarriff, West Cork, a haven in which visitors can ground themselves in nature and escape the everyday, has launched two immersive new summer experiences

that showcase their edible plant-filled paradise and the beautiful Beara Peninsula.

A new ‘Forage, Feast & Paddle’ package in collaboration with Outdoors Ireland, which includes a guided kayaking tour of Glengarriff Bay, home to seals, dolphins, and the occasional basking shark, will have gastronomes, nature lovers, and adventurers alike hot footing it to West Cork.

And, for those looking to extend their stay and soak up the spectacular scenery, Two Green Shoots have teamed up with Wild Atlantic Glamping to offer a ‘A Taste of Beara’ adventure that includes a relaxing two night glamping experience in waterside bell tents on nearby Bere Island.

‘Taste The Wild’ Woodland Workshop Series

A one-of-a-kind series of ‘Taste The Wild’ workshops will also see celebrated cork-based chefs, food producers, and educators, Caitlin RuthSally Barnes (Woodcock Smokery), and Terra Ignis, heading to Glengarriff and setting up camp in Two Green Shoots’ stunning new woodland kitchen from June through to August. Plans are also afoot for a workshop collaboration with Up There The Last’s Max Jones in September.

‘Forage, Feast & Paddle’ package

‘Forage, Feast & Paddle’ is an immersive half-day experience where you take in the sights, sounds, smells, and tastes of Two Green Shoots’ rare temperate rainforest valley, located in a subtropical bay on the Wild Atlantic Way.

Start your adventure in the Caha Mountains with a guided hour-long foraging walk before sitting down in a woodland clearing to enjoy an interactive two-course campfire feast cooked up by co-founders, KloĆ« Wood Lyndorff and Adam Carveth, featuring the wild ingredients gathered earlier.

Afterwards, you’ll head on a short five minute drive down to the harbour, where you’ll be met by Nathan Kingerlee of Outdoors Ireland and taken on a three-hour guided kayaking tour of the Glengarriff Bay, pausing along the way to explore its abundant flora and fauna.

It’s not uncommon to observe seals, rich birdlife and on rare occasions, dolphins and even basking sharks during the summer months.

All tools and equipment are provided on the day. The entire tour is suitable for beginners and anyone with a basic level of fitness, with no prior experience of foraging or kayaking required.

The ‘Forage, Feast & Paddle’ package, available on Fridays weekly between 3rd June and 31st September 2024, is priced at €135.00 per person.

When booking online at www.twogreenshoots.com, you have the option of choosing from either the Daytime Tour, which starts at 11am and includes lunch, or their Sunset Tour, which commences at 3pm and includes dinner.
