TUTORED BEER TASTINGS NOW ON THE MENU AT 

ELBOW LANE, IRELAND’S SMALLEST BREWERY

To celebrate its 10^th Anniversary this year, Elbow Lane Smokehouse & Brewery, the country’s smallest brewery has created a new

series of Tutored Beer Tastings at its iconic location on Oliver Plunkett St in Cork’s city center.  As well as a tasting of its range of award-winning beers, these sessions focus on how the restaurant integrates a myriad of ingredients from the Brewery into dishes created in the kitchen.  These hour-long tastings will take place every Saturday at 12 noon throughout the Summer.

Tutored by Elbow’s brewer and head chef, guests will also get to try a range of ‘tapas’ which not only illustrate how beer and food can perfectly compliment each other, but also show how inventive the restaurant is in creating delicious ingredients from the Brewery’s by-products. Think ‘smoked goat sausage with a fig jam on spent grain cracker with a beer molasses’, ‘yeast miso and hen of the woods mushroom’, ‘smoked beetroot, poppyseed & dill pistou with horseradish whipped goat’s cheese’.

“This is a great opportunity to meet the maker of a top-quality artisanal product in the smallest brewery in Ireland” says executive chef, Stephen Kehoe. “The brewer will spend time answering questions, talking about flavour profiles, tasting beer and food and talking about the history of brewing. You don’t need to be a beer expert to enjoy this session; the emphasis is light, fun and informative.”

Elbow Lane Smokehouse & Brewery is part of the multi-award-winning, owner-operated Market Lane Group of Restaurants which also incorporates Market Lane, ORSO, goldie and Blackrock Castle Café.  The Restaurant Association of Ireland awarded it  ‘Best Casual Dining Restaurant, Munster 2024’.  It also won the all-Ireland Failte Ireland Employer Excellence Award in Food & Drink 2024.
