One heavy zinc-lined case included nothing but spices and
gourmet condiments. Tins of ground mustard, celery salt, poultry seasoning,
paprika, cinnamon, nutmeg, chutney, orange and grapefruit marmalade, Tabasco
sauce, and olive zest. Ever mindful that the expedition would be led by a
former president, Fiala even sent Roosevelt a variety of teas so that he could
select his favourite kind.
