THURSDAY IN MAHON

Hens on point of lay for sale in Mahon
MAHON POINT FARMERS MARKET
All calm at Mahon Point Farmers Market yesterday after the
high winds of the Thursday before had threatened to send the stalls flying down to Cobh.

Martin Conroy, having extricated himself from the mud at Woodside Farm, was glad to see the crowds back. And we were glad to see him as we had a good chat and purchased some of his fantastic pig products.

We have a couple of new products to try out as well. Green Saffron were there as usual and I bought a pack of their granola to try. It might not be a new product but is new to me. Also got one of their prepared, more or less, Chicken Korma, dinners.

Iain of Flynn's Kitchens  has quite a range and we like his soups, two large containers for a fiver. One of yesterday’s is a new product and I’m looking forward to trying out this Potato, Leek and Thyme mix.

Bought a sourdough loaf from Arbutus Breads, a really nice one that was used at lunch along with a small wedge of Gubbeen cheese. While at the Gubbeen stall  we just couldn't resist buying their Venison Burgers!

Bought a few other bits and pieces including those earthy fresh vegetables from Ballycurraginny Farm. Quite a satisfactory expedition!
