BORDEAUX WINE STUDENTS SEEK IRISH WORK PLACEMENT

BORDEAUX WINE STUDENTS SEEK IRISH WORK PLACEMENT

Florence Hivert from Bordeaux has written to inquire whether your company would receive students from their school http://www.institut-rural-vayres.fr for individual work placements in your company in May or June and July 2011.

“The Institut Rural de Vayres is a wine school located
in the heart of the vineyards of Bordeaux in the South West of France.

“We offer vocational A-level/BTEC national courses specialized in wine & spirits trade & marketing, two-year post A-level/BTEC H.N.D courses in wine and spirits business & degrees in wine tourism management & quality management.

“All these courses are scheduled throughout the school year following the sandwich course system, which means that our students put into practice what they learn at school in the corporate world through several training periods.

“We have bet on this practice for more than 30 years now and we have noticed that this system is relevant. Thanks to these experiences the students gain a lot in self-confidence, interest & fluency. They help these young adults develop new skills such as autonomy, self-reliance, adaptability, sense of team work & open-mindedness.

“All the training periods are carried out individually. The trainees will work for your company during the imparted time, then they will provide a well-documented written report and will be assessed when they are back to school.

We propose 2 training periods as follows:

-          □ A month’s training period: Baccalaureat Professionnel TCV VS (vocational A-Level /BTEC national specialized in wine business) from May, 2, 2011 to May, 27, 2011.

-          □ An 8 weeks’ training period (which can last 3 months if agreed): BTS TC BVS ( BTEC H.N.D/ two-year post-A-Level course specialized in wine business) from June, 6, 2011 to August, 26, 2011

Could you let me know which periods would meet your requirements.
Thank you for the interest you show in our programme.
I look forward to hearing from you soon.”
